Spring Ready House.

tulips-bed-colorful-color-69776Spring is here! I know you’re ready but…is your home? To celebrate, I’ve put together a
quick checklist of things you and your home will need to get ready for this change in season:

  • Inspect and change our your HVAC filters, if necessary
  • Test your smoke and carbon monoxide detectors
  • Clean your exterior windows
  • Service your air conditioner
  • Fertilize and mulch your lawn
  • Clean out your gutters
  • Inspect your roof for leaks or damage
  • Rotate/flip your mattresses
  • Clean garbage disposal (crushed ice, baking soda and citrus rinds)
  • Repair and replace damaged window screens (or reinstall)
  • Clean debris from window wells
  • Inspect caulking around sinks and baths

The changing of seasons is a great way to remember that it’s time to pay attention to your house. Spring is the perfect time to see how things are working, declutter and in keeping with ages-old tradition, do a deep cleaning as well 🙂

Creating a master schedule for your house with to-dos for each season, vendor names and numbers, and notes from your last meeting with them is a great way to keep track of the health of your home. Detailed notes of your home maintenance activities can prove really valuable to hand off to new owners if and when you go to sell.

We are happy to work with clients to create a customized home maintenance schedule. You can also find lots of generic ones on Pinterest as well. Reach out to discuss how we can help!

Happy Spring!
